On November 13, 2008 International Organization for Standardization officially released the 2008 revision of its ISO 9001 2008 standard. Companies that consider transition to the new revision should note that this revision does not introduce any new requirements. Per the Forward section of the standard, modifications are made to amend previous revision "... to clarify points in the text and to enhance compliance with ISO 14001:2004." standard. All changes are summarized in the Annex B of the ISO 9001 2008 standard, specifying additions and deletions in the text of the standard.
